Time to assess

WITH the Anti-Corruption Day being celebrated today, the Fiji Labour Party says it is the right time for the government to assess whether people live in a less corrupt society.

FLP leader Mahendra Chaudhry said the 2006 takeover was executed to carry out a "clean-up campaign" to rid Fiji of corruption.

"This is an appropriate time to assess how effectively this has been carried out and whether we now live in a less corrupt society," he said.

Mr Chaudhry also said people had a right to demand honest answers to certain questions in the lead up to the much-promised 2014 election.
