NATIONAL under-20 soccer coach Ravinesh Kumar will be based in Labasa this week in a bid to identify budding talents in the Northern Division.
He will prepare a national team to compete in the U20 Oceania qualifiers in Auckland, New Zealand next year.
"Since NZ is not participating in the event next year, definitely an island nation will qualify for the U20 Soccer World Cup and we want to be that island nation," Kumar said.
"We stand a very good chance of qualifying for the World Cup and I would like to take the best team possible."
He said they have already seen players on Viti Levu and were impressed with their talent.
"I know there is heaps of talent in the North. The Northern Division has produced a lot of good players who have represented their district and also the nation.
"I will be at Subrail Park from Tuesday to Friday from 9am until midday and then from 3pm until 4.30pm but on Friday, it will only be from 9am until 11am."
