POLICE successfully defended the netball open and veteran's titles in the BSP Life Sukuna Bowl competition at the National Netball Centre yesterday.
National rep Alesi Waqa played for Police in the open category.
Army won the wives netball open and veteran's category.
In the volleyball competition also held at the National Netball Centre, Army won the wives open while Police took home the veteran wives title.
The service open and veterans titles were retained by Police.
Former national volleyball rep Akanisi Kurabui played for team Police in the women's open grade.
In lead-up to Sukuna Bowl challenge Kurabui told the tournament website that she "have some old tricks which could catch some young officers off guard, I maybe a pace or two slower but its knowing what to do when the pressure is on which is important".
Army won both categories in the men's grade.
