ARMY retained the BSP Life Sukuna challenge boxing title at the Suva Civic Centre last night.
The side won four gold medals to three from Police to emerge the winners in a tough and close encounter.
In the lightweight 60 kilogram, Pauliasi Ratu of Police defeated Sikeli Rarawa of Army while the light welterweight 64kg title went to Army's Alipate Tuwai.
Tuwai defeated fellow team member Mitieli Lacalevu.
Jone Mau of Police defeated Jonacani Ravudi, also of Police, in the welterweight 69kg category while Army's Anisimai Makario defeated Alipate Tawakilai in the middleweight 75kg category.
In the light heavyweight 81kg division, Jale Ma'afu of Army defeated Dauvunau Ligavatu while in the heavyweight 91kg, Viliame Vitukalulu of Police ruled over fellow mate Manasa Rakatani.
Jone Kotobalavu of Army won the super heavyweight over 91kg category over Cika Mafi.
Boxing program co-ordinator Joseph Low said there was abundance of talent in the disciplined forces which the national body should utilise to raise the profile of the sport in the country.
He hailed the three-day boxing competition a success.
