THE Athletics Fiji season will commences tomorrow with the Suva Athletics Competition at the ANZ Stadium from 9am — 12midday. Competition will cater for all grades from U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U20, Open and Masters. The competition will also feature time trials for the Youth Olympics Training Squad. THE tournament will be held today starting with the first game starting at 9am. All pool games will be played today. Except of Pool 8 which will be played tomorrow. Be advised that teams are to attend the team assembly at 8am except for Pool 8.

Nadroga U14

TABLE Tennis training clinics for school children and beginners are held at the Garden City Hall (on top of Kia Motors) every Monday and Friday from 4 to 5pm. Adults are invited to play table tennis on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm and Sundays from 1pm to 3pm at the same venue. All playing equipment is provided. Fiji FA North trial

NATIONAL U20 coach Ravinesh Kumar will be in Labasa from Tuesday, December 10 to conduct trial for both the under 20 and under 17 national teams. We request the assistance of all the Northern districts to inform and send the best players for trials. We also request the assistance and support of the parents, teachers and coaches to encourage the best players to attend the trials. Players have to be born in 1995 and 1996 for the under 20 teams and 1998 and 1999 for the under 17 team. Trials will be from 9am to 12noon and 3pm to 4.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Trials on Friday, December 13 will be from 9am to 11am.

Penalty shoot-out

THE NVA will be hosting its own mini Club Championship at the AFL hard courts tomorrow. All clubs ensure are to report and register by 8.30am. Registration fees is $20 per team. Draws will be done at the courts. The winner gets 2/3 and runner up gets the balance. It will run as a time game basis (5 minute - a set). Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals will only change to sets if time permits. Please be punctual. Duty Team - Mallow.


The knockout tournament this week will be held at the multipurpose Courts 1 and 2, commencing at 10am. Win by default games will continue .Thus all teams are requested to be at the courts by 9.30am. Court fees $10 and tournament fees $20. Duty team is Cakau men's and women's. Please take note that this will be our final competition for this year and let us come out in numbers and enjoy the day and also farewell each other for the Christmas and New Year's break. After this tournament we will pick our final squad for the season. This is the last chance for players to impress.
