PRESS Soccer and FC Education will represent Lautoka in the National Club Championship this weekend.
This was after both sides qualified for the final after winning their respective semi-finals last night.
During the pool draws of the Kriz Signs-sponsored competition at the Fiji Football Association headquarters yesterday, no teams from Lautoka were confirmed but two slots were allocated to the district.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar said the district was having a meeting to confirm whether teams would participate or no.
When contacted yesterday, LFA president Shalendra Prasad said the appeals committee had decided to play the semi-finals on the same afternoon.
"We called the teams to tell them they would have to play in the semi-finals today (yesterday) so that we could confirm our teams for the NCC today (yesterday)," he said.
"The LFA appeals committee had allowed the appeal and Press Soccer Club was entitled to three points and two goals while Service Sports was entitled to three points and two goals as well."
According to their placing on the points table after the hearing, Press after finishing on top of the table played fourth placed Tu VillaVilla while Service Sports, second on the table, played third placed FC Education.
"Both Press Soccer and FC Education won their respective semi-finals via penalty shootout and will represent Lautoka in the NCC.
"Press will take the Lautoka I spot while FC Education will take the Lautoka II spot."
In a cruel twist of fate, both teams were drawn in the same pool along with Nadroga II and Blues of Nadi for the Western division.
The West competition will be played on Saturday and Sunday at the Govind Park in Ba.
