THE Athletics Fiji season will commences next Saturday, December 7 with the Suva Athletics Competition at the ANZ Stadium from 9am - 12midday. Competition will cater for all grades from U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U20, Open and Masters. This competition will also feature time trials for the Youth Olympics Training Squad. THE Ambassadors 7s will be held at Thomson Park in Navua on December 21. First 24 teams will be accommodated. Entry fee is $220. Cup winner gets $2000, runner-up $800, Plate winner $300, runner-up $200, Bowl winner $150, runner-up $100. Prizes also for Cup and Plate losing semi-finalists. Netball entry fee is $80 and 12 teams accommodated. Winner gets $300 and runner-up $200. Registration deposits to be made to ANZ Bank account 08960778 before December 19. NAKELO rugby development 7s tournament will be held at the Nakelo District School ground on December 13 to 14 for 24 teams. Registration fee is $200. Uluinakau 7s

THE Uluinakau 7s tournament (previously known as the Namarai 7s) will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on January 10-11. 40 men's teams, 10 Indo-Fijian teams and eight women's teams are invited to participate. Registration fee for the men's tournament is $300, Indo-Fijian tournament $150 and $100 for the women's. Prizemoney for the men's competition is $5000, runner-up $2000, Plate $600, runner $500, Bowl $400, runner-up $300, Shield winner $200, runner-up $100. Indo-Fijian winner $500, runner-up $200, women's winner $500 runner-up $200. TABLE TENNIS

TABLE Tennis training clinics for school children and beginners are held at the Garden City Hall (on top of Kia Motors) every Monday and Friday from 4 to 5pm. Adults are invited to play table tennis on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm and Sundays from 1pm to 3pm at the same venue. All playing equipment is provided. Fiji FA North Trial

NATIONAL U20 coach Ravinesh Kumar will be in Labasa from Tuesday, December 10 to conduct trial for both the under 20 and under 17 national teams. We request the assistance of all the Northern districts to inform and send the best players for trials. We also request the assistance and support of the parents, teachers and coaches to encourage the best players to attend the trials.

Players have to be born in 1995 and 1996 for the under 20 teams and 1998 and 1999 for the under 17 team. Trials will be from 9am to 12noon and 3pm to 4.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Trials on Friday, December 13 will be from 9am to 11am.

Nadi U12 and U13

THE Fiji Football will have an International Soccer Tournament in the U12 and U13 category next week with teams from overseas and all over Fiji. All interested soccer players under the age of 13 years who want to represent Nadi are to attend training at Prince Charles Park, Nadi from 3pm today. The tournament will start next week.
