BOTH Army and Police are guaranteed to win two gold medals each in boxing in the Sukuna Bowl competition today.
Army are defending the boxing title and when the finals begin at 5pm at the Suva Civic Centre, the top boxers from each category would be ready to rumble.
Pauliasi Ratu of Police will face Sikeli Rawani of Army in the lightweight 60kg category in the first match after which Army boxers Alipate Tuwai and Mitieli Lacalevu will square off in the light welterweight 64kg contest.
Police officers Jonacani Ravudi and Jone Mau will face each other in the welterweight 69kg bout while Army's Anisimai Makario and Police's Alipate Tawakilau will fight in the middleweight 75kg contest.
In the light heavyweight 81kg category, Policeman Dauvunau Ligavatu will take on Jale Ma'afu of Army while police officers' Viliame Vitukalulu and Manasa Rakatani will box in the heavyweight 91kg contest.
Army's Cika Mafi and Jone Kotobalavu will face each other in the super heavyweight 91kg plus slugfest.
Top boxing trainer Marika Yalimaiwai was present at ringside and he said he was impressed by what he saw.
"There is good improvement on both sides and I take my hat off to the coaches and trainers from both Army and Police," he said.
"I am happy to see plenty young boys fighting in amateur fights and this will surely boost Fiji's chances of winning in overseas competitions."
