THE Fiji Football Association is anticipating an exciting start to its 2013/14 season.
It will begin with the National Club Championship this weekend in the Southern and Western divisions.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal also confirmed the Fiji Sun/Skipper National Football League would kick off on January 18.
Eight teams will be participating in the upcoming national league which excludes Savusavu and Tavua that have been demoted to the premier grade.
Pal said the National Club Championship was a good build-up for the super premier districts ahead of the national league competition.
"The teams will have more than a month to prepare for the national league so we are expecting a good start," he said.
"As for the club championship, we are hoping for a tougher competition than last year."
The NCC will start with the zonal play-offs this weekend at Bidesi Park for southern teams and Govind Park in Ba for the western clubs
The championship final is scheduled to be played from December 13 to December 15. The venue is yet to be finalised.
