A FAMILY dispute has landed a man in jail for the next three months.
Sakeasi Basaga will spend Christmas and New Year behind bars after assaulting and verbally abusing his wife and aunty following a family dispute.
Basaga was charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm and another count of annoying a person.
The court heard that on June 27 this year, Basaga arrived at his Nabua home drunk.
His wife spoke to him about a family issue, which angered Basaga who punched her.
Basaga was counselled by magistrate Chaitanya Lakshman before he was sentenced to three months imprisonment.
He has four previous convictions for similar offences.
