NATIONAL netball coach Unaisi Rokoura is brimming with confidence ahead of their Test match with the Malawi Queens today.
The match starts at 3pm at the Vodafone Arena in Suva and Rokoura believes their training has been up to par.
She said they covered all areas that they thought needed work and were raring to get on the court.
"We had intense training right up until this week and the last few days we just worked on finetuning those areas," the former national centre said.
"This was from attack to defence and then from defence back to attack and all aspects of play.
"So we brought the tempo down a bit to let the players recover for the game as well."
Rokoura said she had been talking to the girls on the importance of executing the basics right and also on the ball retention.
"Possession is very important and controlling the ball when we have the possession will be very important.
"I have talked to the girls and they know what is required of them.
"And I am quite confident that we are going out there and play to the best of our abilities against Malawi."
Malawi is ranked fifth in the world while the Fiji Pearls are ranked seventh.
The second Test match will be played on Monday.
