THE Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) has 12 applications to select a new chief executive officer (CEO) from.
The position has been vacant since Manasa Baravilala's contract was terminated early in September for non-performance.
For now, Dr Belin Kafoa is serving as the acting CEO.
FRU media officer Talei Mow said none of the former position holders had applied for the post.
"12 applications were received for the FRU CEO position," she said.
"Three applied from overseas, while nine were locals.."
While the names of the applicants are being kept confidential, it is believed former Cricket Fiji CEO Sonny Henderson from Australia is one of the overseas applicants.
The FRU board is expected to make a decision on the position later this month.
