TWO Vodafone Fiji Bati players have been named in the Team of the Round following their splendid performance in round one of the Rugby League World Cup in England.
Winger Akuila Uate and fullback Kevin Naiqama were selected based on their performance in the match against Ireland on Tuesday.
Uate scored a hat-trick of tries while Naiqama, who managed a try, was named the Man of the Match following Fiji's 32-14 win.
The team was selected through Opta's analysis of the matches played in the world cup.
Opta is the world's leading sports data company.
Fiji Bati media liaison officer Tomi Finau said the selection of the duo in the international team was a morale booster for the side ahead of tomorrow's clash against the Kangaroos.
"That's confidence booster for our players to get acknowledged that way and these are some of the positive things that we look for to continue to inspire the players and our team moving forward into the tournament," Finau said.
"Australia is made up all elite players in the game and for us it's a huge learning experience."
