THE people of Serua have been advised to constantly communicate with their provincial officials on developments needed for their districts.
In opening the Serua Provincial Council meeting in Navua yesterday, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said the needs for future development plans should be discussed in village meetings.
"It has to be made known to your village representatives to the provincial councils," Commodore Bainimarama said.
"It is your duty to assist your provincial office in letting them know of the developments you need in your districts and that is including works that you might need for next year, 2014."
Commodore Bainimarama said those plans should be made known to the provincial office bearers well in advance.
"I am also requesting the roko tui that you work closely with the provincial development board and the divisional development board regarding the needs made known by the villagers by providing information that will help secure funding for these projects.
"I am also urging you to stay in contact with government workers in the provincial administrator's office and also village headmen."
The Serua Provincial Council meeting ends today.
