THE Suva Football team is looking forward to participating in the Pacific Cup tournament in New Zealand next month.
The Capital City side has been drawn in Pool B with defending champions Nadi, Australia Sydney, NZ Nadi and NZ Vatukoula.
Pool A consists of Ba, Labasa, Australia Queensland, NZ Nasinu and NZ Savusavu.
Whites coach Gurjeet Singh said this would be their first time participating in the Pacific Cup which was introduced last year.
"We have been drawn in a tough pool and all teams will be tough especially Nadi," he said.
"But we are looking forward to it and we expect to have a good outing."
Suva began their training on Tuesday for both the Pacific Cup and the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League which begins on November 10.
"The first few games in the National League will be a good build-up for the Pacific Cup and then the Pacific Cup will be a good build-up for the remainder of the National League games.
"It will be a good build-up for the boys and we are looking at exposing our young boys to international level soccer.
"It will be a first overseas trip for some of our boys and we are looking at giving them a good experience in the tournament."
Singh said the weather would play a huge role in their preparations.
"Weather will affect the turnout at training so we are hoping for good weather to have a good preparation with full turnout at training."
The Pacific Cup will be held from the November 20 to 24 at the Bill Mackinlay Park in Panmure in Auckland, New Zealand.
