FORMER Digicel Fiji 7s star Waisea Nayacalevu has been ruled out of the Flying Fijians team for the Northern Tour which starts on November 9 against Portugal.
This after the France-based players failed a medical test in Perpignan, France yesterday.
Team manager Joseph Browne said coach Inoke Male was yet to make a decision on who would replace Nayacalevu.
"Waisea Nayacalevu did not pass the medical test and will not be part of the team, although he will complete the Reg. 9 camp. We are awaiting a replacement which head coach Inoke Male is arranging from within," he said.
Browne said the team was preparing well for the Test matches against Portugal, Italy, Romania and the Barbarians to be played next month.
He said coach Male conducted two solid sessions on Tuesday on rugby specifics.
"The two technical officers worked with the coaches in trying to elevate skills, game plans, offensive and defensive structures," Browne said.
"This concluded late with some dynamic stretches and cold water pool recovery.
"At the lotu in the evening Seremaia Bai shared a powerful testimony that was as powerful as it was enlightening urging players and management alike to invest in the God given tools which for rugby players is the body."
Meanwhile manager logistics Semi Rogoyawa has urged players to help make the Fiji 15s team a marketable product.
With Fiji Rugby Union looking for sponsors of the national teams, Rogoyawa said the sponsors would only buy in if the product was marketable.
"If the fruits are plentiful and sweet that reflects the earnest efforts and commitments put in," Rogoyawa told the players.
