SUVA was bustling with tourists yesterday as the cruise liner Celebrity Solstice visited the capital.
Among them were George and Lorraine Russell, who are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary on the cruise.
The couple from Brisbane, Australia, have been thoroughly enjoying what is their first trip to the Pacific Islands.
"We didn't know much about Fiji but we had heard from friends about how beautiful it was," Mrs Russell said while the couple sat under the famous Ivi tree in Suva.
"The city is bigger and busier than we expected, and the people are very friendly.
"We are shopping, looking around at what Suva has to offer," Mrs Russell said.
She added they would love to return.
The cruise ship, which can carry up to 2850 passengers, had previously visited Noumea and Isle of Pines. Today the cruise ship sails to Lautoka.
