THE Methodist Church in Fiji needs another $565,000 to rebuild Sigatoka Methodist Primary School that was destroyed by fire in September.
Church secretary for communications Reverend James Bhagwan confirmed that they collected $35,000 so far.
"The cost of new classrooms ready to be used is approximately $600,000," Mr Bhagwan said.
"Project is awaiting final approval before work can begin in mid-November.
"The aim is to have the classrooms ready for term one, 2014."
Mr Bhagwan said in their bid to raise money for the school, the church was requesting assistance of $1 each from students and staff members of all Methodist Church in Fiji-managed schools.
"It is also requesting if each member of the church can give just $1 each towards the rebuilding project."
He added they were thankful to those who pledged their support and assisted with funds.
