FIJI Airways has embarked on a unique campaign, asking the people of Fiji to come up with a new name for its regional subsidiary carrier, Pacific Sun.
Managing director and CEO Stefan Pichler said the rebranding of Pacific Sun was being made to bring it in-line with the national carrier's new name and image.
"Since Fiji Airways (then Air Pacific) started up the domestic and regional subsidiary, Pacific Sun hasn't had a brand alignment with its commercial position," Mr Pichler said.
"Now with an investment in brand new aircraft for the airline to complement the operational restructure it has been going through, the time is right for us to create an identity for Pacific Sun, an identity that Fiji can be proud of, and one which will resonates with our customers."
Mr Pichler said parameters for feedback had been set and one condition for the regional carrier's new identity was that the word Fiji had to be included.
He said all entries suggesting a new name for the airline had to include a brief, explaining why the name should be chosen in 30 words or less.
