THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) interim president Adi Sivia Qoro says there were a number of things the nation can expect from the budget, particularly in the areas of social welfare, education and health.
Adi Sivia said in a statement yesterday that "if it benefits the people, PDP will welcome it".
"We ask for the benefits to be real and meaningful, not just done to capture the headlines."
Adi Sivia said to strengthen the economic growth in the country, the party urged that a number of fundamental issues be addressed.
She noted the need to cut back on capital expenditure from borrowed money; the need to strengthen the principal export sectors, including the sugar industry, agriculture, fisheries and forestry; and the creation of an enabling environment for private investment.
