INDIA stands ready to help Fiji ahead of the September 2014 General Election.
And talks have begun between the two countries on the type of assistance India could provide.
Confirming this yesterday, India's High Commissioner to Fiji Vinod Kumar said while discussions were already in progress, they were looking at providing materials for elections.
"We are discussing with the government of Fiji and we would certainly be doing something," Mr Kumar said.
"It will probably be in the form of providing some materials, we are still discussing so at the moment we can't say what it would be."
He said Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum had discussions with all the missions in Suva and they had discussed on the assistance to be provided.
"The assistance should be ready anytime as soon as the government of Fiji gives the go ahead."
Mr Kumar said India initially offered samples of electronic voter machines.
"It is good that the government of Fiji is discussing with resident diplomatic missions and the co-operation different countries can offer."
