IN a huge step away from tourism expositions hosted in the past, Tourism Fiji's inaugural Fijian Tourism Expo will feature live music from local artists, cultural performances and a display of authentic Fijian-made artefacts and products.
The country's tourism authority spent the past three weeks holding consultations with Fiji tourism industry stakeholders, offshore partners and the media to design an event that will showcase the best that Fiji has to offer.
Tourism Fiji CEO Rick Hamilton said support for the event was at an all-time high.
"FTE is receiving great support from both the Fijian tourism industry and offshore travel sellers, who are incredibly enthusiastic about a show designed specifically for the Fijian industry," he said.
Mr Hamilton said apart from the huge benefits that tourism operators could reap, manufacturers of Fiji-made goods, food, beverages and suppliers would also gain exposure from the three-day event.
"This is a milestone day for us.
"We are presenting specifics of our event to the industry and this will allow exhibitors, buyers and media to plan their attendance at Fijian Tourism Expo with confidence that this will be a stand out event for our Fijian tourism industry."
