PROVING that Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is back to its former glory after being hit by Tropical Cyclone Evan, the exclusive retreat recently played host to the royal family of Qatar.
Resort director James McCann said the resort had been able to recover quickly to host the royal family and even scooped international awards this year.
"Yes, we hosted the royal family of Qatar. They stayed for nine nights at the resort," he said.
"The resort is doing well obviously.
"We started with Tropical Cyclone Evan and that made life a little difficult for us.
"We rebuilt from there but for Yasawa Resort, it has been really good because we've got quite a bit of recognition from Australian Traveller Magazine as one of the Top 100 resorts in the world."
