TRAFFIC officers on Vanua Levu were yesterday reminded to work responsibly and with honesty in the best interest of the public.
Police director traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra made the call during a short briefing with officers in Labasa yesterday.
"While we are entering the festive season, I hope that your attitude and focus is on the police force's core functions in regards to traffic. This is to maintain law and order on our roads for the purpose of reducing road crimes," SSP Mishra said.
"Be honest and work as a team. The public will be there to scrutinise our work and always remember that they are the ones we serve daily.
"We can't operate on our own thinking that whatever we do is right. We have to work with the community and ensure that we are serving them well."
SSP Mishra said services provided by the officers to the people would reflect the police force.
"Your productivity speaks for itself. If you are an honest, trusted and a good police officer, you will have nothing to worry about because you are working according to what the force requires of you."
