THE Fiji Roads Authority is advising the public to allow more time for travel as road- work continues.
FRA CEO Neil Cook said since they began repairs, they had been advising the public to expect delays in travelling.
"As always, our message for the duration of the project will be that traffic delays are expected and that the public are advised to allow more time for travel," Mr Cook said.
"In addition, the safety of our travellers and our crew is of paramount importance and we ask that signages in place are obeyed and in general the public's co-operation for a smoother transition through the maintenance period."
Mr Cook elaborated on the work being conducted at Suva's Rodwell Rd saying they had four phases to the project. "The work schedule includes removing the top layer of the road, strengthening the existing pavement, concrete and kerb and channel work and temporary sealing, raising services and finishing with 50mm of asphalt surface."
These works are expected to end next month.
