FIJIAN clubs participating in the Fitness First Central Coast 7s in Australia did well despite failing to win the major prize in the tournament.
A young looking Red Rock side coached by Lote Rasiga lost in the Cup final to Northern Suburbs 24-38 yesterday.
Island Breeze, a side dominated by Fijian players and the services of former Fiji 7s star Marika Vunibaka, won the plate final beating Manly 14-12.
Ovalau won the Miyo Boot final overcoming Silktails while Yamacia lost to Red Rock 10-19 in the Cup semi-final.
The win has earned Northern Suburbs a place in the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament which will be held next month at Sigatoka's Lawaqa Park.
"It was unreal as Red Rock is a class team and the hardest team we played today (yesterday). You hear stories about them so it's awesome to play against them and even better to beat them," Suburbs skipper Jack Grant said.
"It was in the back of our minds about Fiji as it is such a prestigious tournament. With the cheque we can look at coming and if we keep on training the sky is the limit!"
Defending champion Westfield Barbarians did not participate.
