THE Fiji Cancer Society is happy with the response from members of the public and organisations that have been raising funds to support the society and its patients.
Acting president of the society Dr Tukaha Mua said although they don't have any access to the funds given from organisations and individuals during the Pinktober events, they hoped this would not deter people from supporting the worthy cause.
October is celebrated as Pinktober month and dedicated to addressing breast cancer issues.
"The support has been overwhelming," Dr Mua said
"Some people are seeing the fact that the cancer society is in disarray because we don't have access to the funds.
"But that has not stopped corporate bodies and other organisations as well as individuals in organising events to fundraise for those who need help the most.
"All the donations that are coming are still being deposited into the account that we currently don't have access to, but we will soon solve this internal problem we have between our board and trustees."
Dr Mua was in the Western Division yesterday holding talks with a few board members living there.
