THE Ministry of Women has so far distributed 360 sewing machines to 180 women's groups on Vanua Levu.
Minister for Women Dr Jiko Luveni said the sewing machines were distributed to groups in Cakaudrove and Macuata.
Dr Luveni said each group was given two sewing machines.
"In addition, we have also held leadership and legal literacy training in Natewa Village," she said.
"The ministry has conducted awareness and training with key stakeholders such as the police, the commissioner northern's office and the ministries of health and agriculture."
Dr Luveni called on women's groups to contact their nearest Department of Women office for any advice or request for assistance.
"All women's groups need to register before submitting their monthly reports as they will be guided by our women's officers in their localities.
"The women's groups have to write a request letter with a monthly report outlining their daily activities and specify the programs or training they wish the ministry to help them with."
