VETERAN golfer Gaffar Ali wants to make it three out of four titles when he lines up for the club championship qualifying round at the Lautoka Golf Club today.
The Island Electric employee, his boss Raymond Singh, Prem Chand, Surend Pillay, John Krishna, James Krishna and Vinod Chand are the key players vying for the top eight berth in the Srixon-Cleveland-sponsored 18-hole event.
Having won the club championship title back-to-back in 2010/2011, Ali missed out last year.
"I have been enjoying my game over the last few seasons," Ali said.
"Consistency is the key and I am looking forward to doing well."
Singh won in 2009 while ANZ bank officer Krishna has notched five victories and is second only to former South Pacific Games gold medallist Daven Gopal.
New Zealand-based Gopal notched a club record seven club championship wins.
Vice-captain Pillay, who beat Gopal in 2006, is in fine form as well.
Eight winners from each of the grades (A,B and C) will qualify for the quarter-finals.
In the B-grade, defending champion Abdul Jalal is the top contender.
