HIDEAWAY is the team to beat in the Subrails Vitogo 7s tournament in Lautoka.
The Coral Coast-based team breezed through its pool matches at the Vitogo District School grounds yesterday.
Hideaway defeated Mala Young Boys 26-0 and Vitogo 33-7.
In an upset, Momi beat Natabua Gold 5-0.
Tournament co-ordinator Tirani Uluinakauvadra said a big turnout was recorded on the opening day.
He said the two top teams from each pool would qualify for the cup competition.
"A total of 16 teams turned up so we drew them into four pools," Uluinakauvadra said.
"The two bottom placed teams in each pool will play in the plate competition.
"There is huge interest in the tournament because it is the first to be held in the area.
"The upgraded ground has held well despite the rain. With the positive response we expect to hold a bigger tournament next year."
The cup final is scheduled for 3pm today.
