BA Masters was the first team to qualify for the semi-finals at the International Master Classics Football Tournament in Suva yesterday.
An Arjun PIllay goal helped beat the Suilven Shipping Mighty Lions from Labasa 1-0 in the over 40 grade,
Tournament co-ordinator Aminiasi Bigitibau said according to his mates the match was a "cracker".
The Ba side has top former reps such as Pillay, Mosese Soro, Isikeli Seva, Shiu Sami, Lote Delai and Taito Bula.
The northerners fielded Taniela Tuilevuka, Epeli Levaci and several other big names.
"It's not only about competing, it's about reunion," Bigitibau said.
He said the two days of competition so far had been a success.
"Everyone is happy from the positive reactions we have been getting.
"There has hardly been any complaints or even injuries as the teams have prepared well."
Games were in progress last night when this edition went to press.
The semi-finals will start at 9am today at the ANZ Stadium.
