THE Fiji Police Inter Formation tournament which starts today will be used to select the Police netball and volleyball teams for the 2013 BSP Life Sukuna Bowl competition.
The law enforcers will field two netball teams and a volleyball team in the annual competition between the Police and Army.
The inter-formation tournament which will be represented by all units across the country will be played at the Police Special Response Unit in 8 Miles, Nasinu.
Tournament co-ordinator Vilisi Misiamete said they had 14 women's teams each in netball and volleyball.
There is also a veterans team that will play in the curtain raiser to the final tomorrow against the corrections service team.
"This year's theme is 'Implementing Duavata through Sports' and we have invited the Corrections Services team which won't be playing in the Sukuna Bowl to take part in the inter-formation as part of our Duavata concept."
Northern team is the defending champion of the netball competition and is the holders of the prestigious Mrs Commissioners Cup which the side will defend against the Eastern side today.
Headquarters is the defending champions in the volleyball competition.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Henry Brown will do the official opening of the tournament at 9am.
