NEW Zealand designer Kathryn Wilson is excited about coming to Fiji to be a part of the Bula Mai Style Fiji fashion show in November in Nadi.
But what really has her toes in a curl is the fact that pop star Beyonce is taking home a memento from her recent New Zealand tour.
The rhythm and blues artist has taken two pairs of Wilson's shoes from the Kiwi designer's upcoming Winter 2014 collection.
"It's such an awesome thing because we also look to her as a woman in business, in terms of instilling confidence in women, telling them, 'you can do anything'," she said in an article which appeared in the New Zealand Herald on Monday.
"She's always been an icon in the back of my mind which we build the brand on.
"Beyonce is a strong, successful woman, encouraging other women to do the same."
Wilson, a famous shoe designer in the land of the long white cloud, will be one of many international guests at the Style Fiji 2013 Charity Red Carpet Fashion Event at the Denarau Property next to Port Denarau on November 30.
She will be showcasing her shoes and swimwear line at the charity event which raised more than $125,000 last year.
The Fiji Times is a media partner for the show.
