VILLAGE headmen and district reps in Nadroga and Navosa will be offered cash incentives as a means of encouraging better work performances.
Assistant roko tui Nadroga Rusiate Raidaveta said the payment would be made from funds raised during a two-day bazaar that begins tomorrow.
He said the council expected to collect $240,000 of which $100,000 would be set aside for the incentive payouts and the renovation of the provincial office.
"The people of Nadroga are looking forward to this two-day meet. The carnival will be opened by the headmen and district representatives," Mr Raidaveta said.
The council decided that the remaining $140,000 would be used on education, which includes allowances for tertiary and high school students, tuition fees for private students and the payment of the council houses in Suva that accommodates its tertiary students.
The carnival activities include a victory celebration march for the champion Outrigger on the Lagoon Nadroga rugby team.
