WAINIVULA Eels is calling on interested 7s players to join the side for the Great Eight 7s tournament on November 1 and 2 at Lawaqa Park.
Following the team's win in the 2013 Rosy Hearts Fiji-Indo Rugby 7s tournament in Suva last month, the side was invited by the organisers of the Great Eight 7s to play in the qualifying tournament of the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s which will be held from November 14 to 17.
The club is making an open call for iTaukei and Fijians of Indian descent in its bid to form a formidable side that can compete at the high-level competition.
"We are thankful to the organisers of the Great Eight 7s for inviting us and we are going to grab this opportunity with both hands," Wainivula team manager Alvin Nair said.
"We want to field a strong team which can go and strongly compete at the Great Eight 7s and that's why we are making an open call to any player, whether iTaukei or Fijian of Indian descent, to strengthen our unit."
Nair said the inclusion of iTaukei players was an ideal way forward for the development of the sport.
Wainivula resumed training this week and all interested players are welcome to join the training at Albert Park every weekday from 5.30pm.
