THE National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) will soon launch a fashion and design course, which will encompass everything from basic sewing skills to wedding planning, designing wedding dresses and photography, among others.
This was confirmed in an interview last week by veteran designer and NTPC's Rosie Emberson-Semisi, who said she was excited for the opportunities it would provide.
"Anybody can become a fashion designer and this course will be affordable and interesting — you tell us what aspect of fashion you want to study and we'll cater to those needs as best we can," Mrs Emberson-Semisi said.
"One of the very first courses we'll introduce is manual pattern-making and it's never been done here, so we're introducing it for the first time."
An introductory workshop is scheduled to be held between 28 October and 8 November, where the first 20 people to contact the school will get a spot.
Courses are expected to be implemented in January 2014.
