VODAFONE Fiji has conducted a survey on possible sites in the Northern Division to construct towers in order to improve its network coverage.
The company's head of radio network coverage, Thomas Bruce, said the survey was part of a three-year development plan.
"We have identified some sites in the Macuata Coral Coast area, Coqeloa, Dogotuki, Korotari and parts of Bua," Mr Bruce said.
"This is phase one of the project and it's now completed. The project is basically aimed at further enhancing our network coverage for people here in the North and soon, they will be able to access our network from wherever they are."
He said they wanted people to be able to enjoy their services without encountering reception issues.
Complaints regarding cellular reception in these very areas are quite common, as some of the villagers in the Macuata coastal area have registered criticisms.
Naduri villager Tevita Tokalau said most of them had to place their phones at certain locations in their homes in order to get reception.
