FORMER National Federation Party leader Prem Singh has highlighted the importance of supporting the party as it prepares for the 2014 election.
Speaking at the NFP Lautoka branch party meeting at the Girmit Centre on Friday, he said: "Everybody has a chance to assist the party in their campaign and help our leaders and our representatives achieve our goals in 2014.
"We must work together to elect our representatives and we need to have constant dialogues with each other so that we can have one voice.
"We must also negotiate with the current government so that we can discuss shortcomings and other issues that are important to the development of our people."
The former NFP president said he was proud to be part of the party and the progress it had made of the years since it was formed.
"This is where we can hold our heads high knowing that we have not been part of any political upheaval.
"I have a very proud history with this party and my father and grandfather have been great supporters of this party.
"We care about the policies of the party and what it represents."
Party general secretary Viswa Nadan also assured their Lautoka members that the NFP had not gone into any alliance with any other party.
