MISCOMMUNICATION and transportation problems were the reasons for the low turnout by officers at the Commissioner of Police's third quarterly parade at FDB foreshore in Suva on Friday.
This was confirmed by force chief operations officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu in an interview yesterday.
ACP Tudravu said the officers who did not turn up would not be penalised because they had provided genuine reasons for their absence.
"Police officers don't stay together so it's difficult for them to come. I have received what they have stated, its genuine, the things they have explained to me," he said.
ACP Tudravu said the parade has been rescheduled for 6am tomorrow and he expects a maximum turnout.
He said the force had set a standard and officers had a responsibility to follow it.
The parade was called off on Friday morning for low turnout.
