POLICE, the defending champions of the Security Forces Volleyball Association (SFVA) men's title, have received a major sponsorship boost ahead of the new season yesterday.
Standard Concrete handed over a new set of jerseys to the team for the competition which begins on November 2.
Team coach Timoci Senibici said they would use the SFVA competition to build up for the Sukuna Bowl competition.
"We are preparing to defend our title in the SFVA competition and the support from Standard Concrete has boosted our morale," the former national rep said.
"Our team is made up of mainly youths and is part of the Duavata model launched by the Fiji Police Force."
Senibici said they were expecting tough competition from the other teams at the competition.
"Being the defending champion means we will be the targets.
"It means our job will be even harder because all the teams will be trying to beat us."
Standard Concrete sales and marketing head Sai Tokalau said they were delighted to be associated with the police volleyball side.
"This is our first sponsorship using the Aglime brand which is the 100 per cent local product of Standard Concrete," he said.
"We are happy to be associated with the Fiji Police Force volleyball team and we wish them all the best in their competition."
