DIGICEL Fiji 7s winger Benito Masilevu scored two tries in the Gold Coast Sevens Plate final helping seal a 36-0 win over an improved Kenyan side at Skilled Park last weekend.
The man from Cakaudrove put on a standout performance during the two-day tournament which has impressed not only fans but national selectors also.
His performance also landed him among one of the top try scorers at the tournament, a feat he says was achieved because of his teammates.
Arriving into the country on Tuesday with national sevens side, Masilevu said he was grateful to the support of the whole team and to God for his performance at the Australian tournament.
"I want to thank God for everything that he gave to us. We all know that nothing is from us, it's from Him," he said.
"I also thank Ben (Ryan) for leading us in the first week and Oscar (Kolinisau) as a captain and the rest of the boys for giving their best in this tournament especially under a new coach
"I did the easy part by crossing the tryline and the real work and harder task was done by the boys who worked hard to bring the ball closer to the tryline."
