THE Taveuni soccer side celebrated its Courts Inter-District Championship premier division win in style on Tuesday.
Loyal supporters lined up to welcome the team at the jetty where the celebration for the historic win began.
Taveuni won the premier division title for the first time in 66 years after beating giants Dreketi 1-0 in the final on Sunday at Lautoka's Churchill Park.
Taveuni Football president Zahid Hussein said the players and officials were overwhelmed with the reception they received upon their arrival on the island.
The parade started from Wairiki and ended at the Taveuni Central Sanatan School in Naqara.
Hussein said they also visited the residence of Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.
He also confirmed they shared $6500 between the 16 players who represented the district at the IDC.
The team will be hosted to a dinner by the people of Qarawalu later this week.
