STUDENTS from the Harlem Hostel, Gospel School for the Deaf, Saint Christophers and Dilkusha homes marked World Egg Day in Kalabu, Nasinu, on Saturday.
The event, organised for the first time in Fiji by Ram Sami & Sons (Fiji) Ltd, raised awareness of the importance of eggs to good health.
"Eggs are one of nature's most nutrient foods," said Ram Sami and Sons managing director Rajendra Sami.
"One large egg contains about 70 calories and provides many of the essential vitamins and minerals needed for good health.
"Eggs are an excellent and the cheapest source of protein around when compared against other foods.
"Eggs are an important part of a balanced diet."
