THE government has assisted about 50 families of Naruku settlement in Ba through the provision of adequate and clean water.
Ba Advisory Council chairman Viam Pillay said an $11,000 grant from the government for the provision of water had assisted members of the community.
He said the area had been plagued with water problems for decades until the Commissioner Western came to their assistance.
"The donation has made a difference in the lives of the residents who have over the years depended on creeks and rivers for water," said Mr Pillay.
"The government donated $11,000 for the cost of pipes and other materials while the community assisted with the labour."
