POLICE have charged two Labasa tertiary students who allegedly printed and used counterfeit notes in the northern town last month.

The two 19-year olds have been charged with uttering counterfeit notes.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said one of the students attended Fiji National University while the other was a student at the University of the South Pacific.

"Both students are based in Labasa and they have been charged for allegedly printing and distributing the counterfeit notes in Labasa last month," Insp Sokomuri said.

"These students have been bailed by police and will appear in court later."
