THE former employee of an island school facing 12 counts of gross indecency appeared for the first day of hearing before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili yesterday.
The first two witnesses told the court of how the man they respected had invited them into his home before committing the alleged offence.
The first state witness said in his examination-in-chief that he was a Form Five student at a secondary school on Kadavu at the time and knew the accused person as the bursar of the school.
He said he was 18 at the time of the alleged offence.
He said he remembered it was about 7pm on May 27, 2011, that the accused called him.
He recalled he was with his classmates inside a classroom watching movies because there was no classes on that day after Cyclone Thomas had hit Fiji.
He said the accused approached him and asked him to accompany him to his home, a government quarters, within the school premises.
The court heard that when they reached the accused person's home, the accused went to have his shower while he made the witness watch pornographic movie before he allegedly had sex with the witness.
The witness said he was afraid and shocked when the accused told him to perform sexual acts on him.
