THE Ministry of Defence paid a visit to the Hilton Early Intervention Centre yesterday to celebrate Fiji Day with students.
Manager for Corporate Services Joseph Ratumaitavuki handed stationery and school items.
He said the school had earlier sent a wish list to the government.
"Today is a wonderful opportunity for the government to connect with the community," Mr Ratumaitavuki, speaking on behalf of the permanent secretary, said.
He commended the teachers for the role they played in setting the children with special needs on their career paths.
School CEO Sureni Perera thanked the government for the gift saying that every gift was appreciated.
"We try to provide services to children with disabilities at the earliest possible time, so that these children can proceed to mainstream education," Ms Perera said.
"One of the biggest challenges for the school is that we don't have specialised professionals, such as speech therapists."
