DRASA Secondary School took out the Courts Inter-District Championship secondary schools title at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.
The Drasa Secondary School team defeated Saraswati College 2-1 in the final.
Etuate Tobua scored the winning goal late in the match. Antonio Tuivuna opened the scoring for Drasa Secondary School while Rewa rep Iosefo Verevou equalised for Saraswati College from the penalty spot.
This was Drasa Secondary School's first win in the competition since 2006. Rewa rep Setareki Hughes also featured for Saraswati College.
Drasa Secondary School coach George Rao said this was the first time for them to claim two titles in the season.
"We are really happy with the win," Rao said.
"We prepared well coming into the tournament as the secondary schools champions. The pressure was on us to repeat the performance in Labasa.
"We proved that the win there was not a fluke. Rewa had the experienced players like Verevou and Setareki but we contained them.
"This win comes after seven years and it is the first time for us to win both the Tuckers Ice Cream Fiji Secondary School Association IDC title and the Courts IDC title."
Drasa Secondary School defeated Saraswati College 1-0 in the Tuckers Ice Cream Fiji Secondary School Association IDC in Labasa in August.
