MISS Nadi Ajneeta Lal was crowned Platinum Jubilee Queen and Miss Charity at Lautoka's Carnival Park on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old, who works at Red Goat Furniture and Joinery, said participating in the week-long Platinum Jubilee Carnival had fulfilled a lifelong dream to do charity work.
"Although I work in sales and marketing, I have dreams of opening my own business one day and doing more charity work," she said.
Ms Lal said there were several people who had contributed to her taking out the two titles.
"My partner Tony Herbert, Paula Rafiq and the Nadi Soccer Association all played a big part in my win and I am so proud to have represented my district," she said.
USP economics and management student Kylie Wise, who scooped the runner-up crown, said participating in the charity pageant was an overwhelming experience.
"I thank my district Lautoka for their support and am very grateful to have participated in an event that will help the underprivileged," she said. The week-long carnival and pageant was held to raise funds for charity and boost district pride.
Attempts to contact the Fiji Football Association media officer Moiz Munif in regards to how much was raised during the fete were unsuccessful.
