THE brutal Friday night showdown between the Fiji President's XIII and the Vodafone Fiji Bati took its toll on players.
Team management announced that all media, community and social engagements planned for the country's representatives to the Rugby League World Cup yesterday were cancelled.
Despite the 50-12 margin, the victorious Bati went into recovery mode with team manager Mesake Navugona saying his boys needed the rest.
"The activities that were planned today were cancelled so that the boys can have a well-deserved break," he said.
"They had a recovery session for the morning and will be taking the afternoon off.
Navugona also said the match on Friday was a perfect opportunity for the public to witness the team that will participate at the world cup in England in less than three weeks.
